So, now that the final movie has come out, many people were sad that they wouldn’t be able to get their Harry Potter fix. But no worries . . . Harry Potter will live on! Not only with J.K. Rowling’s brand new web site coming out next year but also with the addition of a “Harry Potter weekend” celebration at Universal Studios’s “Wizarding World of Harry Potter” themed area.
If only I had the money and time to do this, but alas I’ll have just been in Florida a month prior for a trip to Disney World. Disney first started doing these themed weekends with Star Wars Weekends, which happen every May and June. Connie loves Star Wars and I tolerate it pretty well, so we’ve gone several years to this event. Its fun; they have costumed and “face” characters based on the movies, celebrity guest stars from both the movies and the animated series, a special parade, and a nightly event called “Hyperspace Hoopla” that has to be seen to be believed. In fact, the YouTube video of that show will be next week’s THEME PARK THURSDAY post so make sure to come back for that!
Here are the details for the Harry Potter weekend in November if any of you are interested in going. It looks like it will be a lot of fun and depending on who the celebrity guests are, it could be really amazing. I mean, if Daniel Radcliffe comes, that’s awesome. If the guy who plays Dean Thomas comes, well, who am I kidding, that’d still be awesome and likely not as crowded.
Here ya go with the details:
