Election 2008

First, let me say that when I was in high school I was hugely into politics but I lost interest when I got to college. It might have had something to do with the ridiculous next door neighbor I had in my dorm who was or (claimed to be) well known by members of the Republican party leadership. He also pretended to have a brain tumor. I sort of lost my taste for politics at that point.

But this Sarah Palin nomination has really intrigued me. I plan to watch her speech tomorrow and think this election just got a whole lot more interesting. I find her refreshing (at least so far) and think she’s got a Ann Richards-meets-Tina Fey vibe going personality wise and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

It honestly doesn’t matter to me THAT much who wins the election as I don’t think national politics impact me nearly as much as local government does and frankly I’m a bit cynical towards all politicians at that level being in it for the glory rather than the good of the country but I am at least going to grab some popcorn and watch how this thing unfolds.
